AUSTRALIA’S BUSBY MAROU ANNOUNCES 2019 CANADIAN TOUR
INCLUDES STOPS IN GRAVENHURST, TORONTO,
BURNSTOWN AND GUELPH
Toronto, ON – June 17, 2019 – Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou have been playing music together for over a decade since their initial music connection at a pub in Rockhampton, Queensland. Since then, the duo – known aptly as Busby Marou – has become a national treasure in Australia, gaining the reputation as one of the country’s hardest working live bands, best known for their distinctly Australian storytelling and gifted musicianship. Next month, the duo will make the trip over to Canada, to play a string of shows across Ontario, including stops in Gravenhurst, Toronto, Burnstown, and at Hillside Festival in Guelph. See below for full details, and have a look at the video for their single, Sound of Summer, for a taste of what they’ll bring to Canadian stages in July.
On stage, a key element of Busby Marou’s performance is the intertwining of vocal interplay of two life-long mates. The duo puts an exuberant energy into touring their home country, loving the live experience as much in a country beer barn, as they do in a slick inner city theatre, and capped off 2018 by playing their biggest ever headline show to over 3,000 people in Rockhampton at their own One Hot Night festival.
Their 2017 release, Postcards From The Shell House, saw a #1 ARIA album chart, with the track, Days Of Gold, being selected as a theme song for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The duo recently finished recording their fourth album with Oscar Dawson (Alex Lahey, Holy Holy), which will be released later this year. The first single from the album is set for release on July 5th (via Warner Music Canada), just in time for their summer tour.
Don’t miss Busby Marou’s captivating live show in Canada this summer, and stay tuned for more from the band through 2019!
