ANNOUNCE SPRING TOUR DATES

Toronto, ON – April 10, 2018 – Hailing from Regina, SK, Bears in Hazenmore, have been creating their signature atmospheric soundscapes and ambient alternative rock music since their formation in 2014. Now, the group is set to share their debut full-length album, Atlas, on June 15. Drawing listeners in with intimate lyrics and enticing builds, Atlas features ten songs centred thematically on memory and its tie to specific locations. "Our debut full-length album, Atlas, is a collection of songs that are roadmaps tracing the routes we have taken – however winding, dangerous, or otherwise ill-advised they may be – to get where we are today,” says Dana Rempel (bass/sax). “The album features stories of people in transit. Whether it be the process of accepting mental illness, moving homes, or accepting lost love, the only real constant throughout the record, and life, is change. The album includes songs from as far back as 2015 and as recently as 2017, embodying our change and growth as a band through the change and growth portrayed in each song."

Atlas was recorded in Regina in Spring 2017 with Justin Bender at Blue Door Recording, mixed and mastered by Rob Morrison at RMS-LABS. The band pushes their ever-evolving sound with intertwining guitar and horn textures, contemplative lyrics, and irregular time signatures. 

Operating as a five-piece ensemble that includes extensive use of reverb-saturated guitars, dynamic percussion, and ethereal brass and woodwind textures, they draw strong influences from and comparisons to groups such as City and Colour, Aidan Knight, and Bon Iver. The five members, Brady Frank (lead vocals/guitar/keys), Dana Rempel (bass/sax), Darnell Stewart (guitar), Tanner Wilhelm Hale (drums/vocals), and Dalton Lam (trumpet), all have their roots in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, where they met through different musical endeavours.
