WRISTBANDS AVAILABLE NOW

Winnipeg, MB – September 8, 2021 – Live music is back! Today, BreakOut West announces the first wave of artists that will be showcasing at its 19th annual music festival. After taking the festivities online last year, BreakOut West is thrilled to be safely returning to live, with showcases taking place in Winnipeg, MB from February 2 to 6, 2022. Acts from all across western Canada will perform at venues throughout the city, along with special international guests, such as Iceland’s Cell7 (in partnership with Keychange, presented by PRS Foundation, FACTOR and SOCAN Foundation). The first-round list of performing artists can be found below and wristbands are available now here.

“We couldn’t be more excited to safely bring live music back in our community for this next edition of BreakOut West Festival,” exclaims Robyn Stewart, Executive Director, Western Canadian Music Alliance. “While artists have been extremely agile and creative in getting their music to the world through this pandemic time, there is little that can replace the feeling of being physically in the room with them, feeling the passion and energy each artist brings to their live show. Mark your calendar for February to join us in Winnipeg for your next live music shot of adrenalin!”

The first-round performers include some of Canada’s most celebrated artists, boasting JUNO Award and Polaris Music Prize nominations, as well as six acts who have been nominated for Western Canadian Music Awards this year. The winners of the artistic categories will be announced in October 2021. More details on the WCMAwards presentations will be revealed soon.
