DJDS SHARES NEW SONG SIMPLE THINGS FEATURING TORY LANEZ AND REMA

WATCH SIMPLE THINGS

Toronto, ON – July 10, 2020 – Today, production duo, DJDS, connect with Tory Lanez and Rema for a new single that bridges Los Angeles, Toronto and Lagos. Simple Things is quintessential DJDS; the duo seamlessly unites three worlds for a euphoric anthem that feels as unexpected as it is infectious. The track arrives on the heels of their recent No Trust / Feel Nice EP, which was conceived in Jamaica, and following DJDS spending much of 2019 collaborating with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy on the collaborative EP Steel & Copper and Grammy-nominated African Giant.

Tory Lanez' appearance on Simple Things continues his recent hot streak, following a #2 debut on the Billboard 200 for April's New Toronto 3 mixtape and the viral success of his Instagram Live series, Quarantine Radio. Rema, the breakout Nigerian artist on the cusp of global stardom, recently graced the covers of DAZED Magazine and The FADER.

Speaking about the new single, DJDS says: "To usSimple Things sort of feels like the ultimate DJDS song because it sounds like what we've done and where we're going all at once. You hear the sample chops and that's old school DJDS but the collaborations represent the future. The work we put in with Burna Boy directly lead us to linking with Rema, and Tory is somebody we've been waiting years to get in the studio with. These guys are upper echelon so we really had to draw upon all our experience to give them something that felt undeniable."

About DJDS:
DJDS is the Grammy-nominated production duo of Sam Griesemer and Jerome Potter. Their most recent album, 2018's Big Wave More Fire, saw them applying the lessons learned from their extensive work on Kanye West's The Life of Pablo. The artistic growth on Big Wave More Fire was immediately apparent, as was their ability to yield inspired performances from its collaborators, which included Khalid, Charlie Wilson, Empress Of, The-Dream, Amber Mark and more.

Opportunities borne from the success of Big Wave More Fire ushered in a new chapter for DJDS. Between producing platinum songs for Khalid and experimental R&B with Dijon and 6lack, they formed their strongest creative bond with the global superstar Burna Boy. After working on his album African Giant and their collaborative EP Steel & Copper, DJDS left LA for Jamaica, and set up shop in a Kingston studio to work with some of the city's most talented rising artists. Successfully walking between these different musical worlds is DJDS at their core. Their list of collaborators and achievements grow but the emotion and soul in their work stays firmly in place.
