EAT YOUR HEART OUT RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO FOR SINGLE CAROUSEL

ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM FLORESCENCE SET FOR RELEASE MAY 17 VIA FEARLESS RECORDS

Toronto, ON – April 3, 2019 –
Aussies, Eat Your Heart Out, have announced the release of their debut album, Florescence, via Fearless Records on May 17. They’ve also unveiled a music video for current single, Carousel, which  sees the band caught up in their own fanciful yet bizarre fairground world.

Carousel makes reference to disconcerting and unproductive thought processes that many of us are prone to and can identify with. Vocalist Caitlin explains “Carousel is about the constant cycle of thoughts in your head that go back and forth between doubting yourself and believing that you aren’t good enough, and then having a moment of clarity when you know you’re being irrational. A lot of it comes from the idea of ‘imposter syndrome’ which a lot of people (especially women) experience at some point, where you can’t acknowledge your own achievements properly and believe that you are undeserving, and there’s a constant fear that it will all unravel and you’ll be exposed.”

Caitlin continues to talk about the album’s overall approach and its moniker: “I felt like I grew up a lot in the last year, in an emotional sense, and I learned how to deal with these kind of experiences in new ways. So I wanted a title that encompassed the idea of growing up and maturing, and it took us a while to come across the word ‘florescence’ but when we did we knew straight away that it was what we were looking for. It refers to the act of flowering or blooming, and I found it really interesting that I’d never come across the word before.”

Hailing from Newcastle, Australia, Eat Your Heart Out carry on the tradition of Australia’s impressive history of musical outliers from Nick Cave and Silverchair to The Amity Affliction and Parkway Drive, but they do so unequivocally on their own terms. The group’s ability to meld aspects of grunge with an emo energy, punk power, and pop prowess can be heard on previous EP releases but their refreshingly unique approach to rock music has been levelled up on Eat Your Heart Out’s debut album.
