Toronto, ON – October 10, 2017 – Toronto indie-folk songstress, Emma Cook, is gearing up to release a brand new collection of music, and today, she shares the first single, I Will Stay. Have a listen to the powerful and uplifting song here.

"I Will Stay is one of the first songs I recorded for this album and it played a pivotal role in creating the record as a whole,” comments Emma on the track. “I was coming from a very dark time in my life and struggling to find the strength to rise above my own pain and be there for my young and very fiery daughter. The song conjures up all of our fears of not being perfect, and how life can erode the image you had of yourself, but how we can remain strong despite it. Fun fact, it is also my daughter's favourite song.”

Eager to share her new music in a live setting, Emma is thrilled to be taking to the Cameron House stage for a performance during Indie Week in Toronto. Audiences will get a taste of the new songs that will appear on Emma’s new album, which is set for release in 2018.

Emma continues, "I am looking forward to being part of Indie Week again this year. It's a great festival and I always love performing at the Cameron House in Toronto. This show will be the first one after the new single and the unveiling of my new live show which will be quite different from my previous releases.”

After a three-year battle with Post-Concussive Syndrome caused by a serious head injury, Emma drew 2016 to a close with the release of her third album, Same Old Song. The album debuted at #3 on the folk charts in Edmonton and landed Emma a sync licensing deal with Community Tree Music in Vancouver. Earlier that year, Emma had also begun writing new songs, building the foundation for what would become her fourth full-length release – the first single of which would help her reach the second round of CBC’s Searchlight competition.
