Toronto, ON – July 31, 2020 – Toronto artist Lexxicon continues to bring the summer vibes to audiences worldwide – this time, embracing an element of Paradise – the second single from his forthcoming EP, Tropical R&B, out on August 14. Premiering via Happy MagParadise highlights Lexxicon’s search for a place where he no longer has to feel shame, pain or manipulation, unveiling some of the layered themes within the project. Listen to the song here, which arrives with a lyric video here.

I don’t know if paradise really exists, but I know it would look and feel like a place where I wasn’t judged wasn’t mistreated due to difference but celebrated and loved,” Lexxicon says. “Everyone wants a place to belong, a place to call home, a place that will feel like their own personal paradise.”

The EP’s first single, I Don’t Deserve Youwas released on July 17, and arrived with a lyric visualizer. The official video for I Don’t Deserve You was directed by Lexxicon and co-directed and produced by GoldenBoy, and reflects the song’s themes in an intimate fashion to show feeling undeserving of an outpouring of love from special people in your life. Watch it here.

Tropical R&B was produced by Dominican Republic-born, Ontario-based, Eber. The EP follows Lexxicon’s acclaimedBashment Trap House, released on January 31, 2020. With Tropical R&B,  Lexxicon set out to create an R&B record that infuses his dancehall roots. Themes highlight the desire to escape reality, the world, and negative feelings.

“Despite trying to runway, it seems no matter where you go, we always take our human nature with us which eventually leads to the same results of isolation and pain,” Lexxicon says of the project. “Meaning while living we can never truly escape but must instead learn to live with pain and the love simultaneously. Welcome to the moody body of work called Tropical R&B.”

The futuristic cover art seen below reflects this as it is an image of a gateway to another world. Lyrics explore loneliness, craving belonging and acceptance, and using intimate connections a temporary means of relief. Pre-order Tropical R&B here and stay tuned for the official Paradise video, out next week.
