Toronto, ON – February 21, 2019 – Poor Nameless Boy
– singer-songwriter, Joel Henderson – has upped the ante yet again. Disarming in a moment, his soft, melodic delivery is born from a keen perception of the human condition. This understated authenticity is brought to life on the upcoming EP, Wake Up Call. Set for release on March 29 through Chronograph Records, the EP showcases Henderson’s personal, mellow sound; touring honestly on love, live, and our changing hearts in a busy world. This shines through on his latest single, Catch Up And Slow Down – a song that reflects on the importance of human connection in a world that often seems too fast-paced to allow for such moments. Listen here.

Henderson’s striking grasp of life’s complexities is mirrored by a pure modesty, allowing listeners to immerse themselves into the stories, songs and experiences of Poor Nameless Boy without pretence. “Distance does not happen overnight,” says Henderson poetically. “We don't lose perspective, desire, love, communication, or hope by one decision. We can choose the wrong roads and not even realize it. Seek perspective. Desire to see the other side. Reach out to those who are important. It's a new day.”

Often described as a lighter version of Noah Gunderson and Donovan Woods, with the wispy sounds of Gregory Alan Isakov, Poor Nameless Boy has touched the hearts and ears of industry and music lovers alike since the release of his last album, Bravery. The record hit #2 on the folk radio charts, and album track, River & Trees, was in CBC’s Top 50 songs for 2016. Henderson’s skilled lyrical ability earned him a spot as a semi-finalist in the 2018 Canadian Songwriting Competition, and a Global Music Award Bronze Medal.

The Regina-based artist has also been making quite a presence internationally, with music lovers in Europe, Australia, and the U.S. taking notice. Leave Myself Behind, his piano ballad duet with Saskatoon’s Denise Valle, has over 550k streams on Spotify in the GAS market, and he has had stellar appearances at Reeperbahn, Australian Music Week, The Great Escape, and more. Poor Nameless Boy will take the new songs from Wake Up Call on the road this spring, with tour dates across western Canada.
