SWITCHFOOT RELEASES POWERFUL NATIVE TONGUE LIVE MUSIC VIDEO

CURRENTLY HEADLINING NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH COLONY HOUSE AND TYSON MOTSENBOCKER  WITH SHOW IN VANCOUVER APIL 13

Toronto, ON – March 8, 2019 – Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning rock band, Switchfoot, shared a blistering new live video for Native Tongue, via Alternative Revolt and YouTube Premiere. The live performance clip, produced by Switchfoot and directed by Erick Frost, was shot at Atlanta's historic Tabernacle, and captures the quintet's signature high-energy performance and passionate connection with their fans.

"We love Atlanta and we love the Tabernacle. Such an amazing venue with an incredible crowd. The room was electric, and the video captures the energy. This song speaks to our times: we are a house divided. Yet underneath the language of fear or hatred, love is our native tongue. To see a roomful of people set aside their differences to sing one song together is a powerful moment," expressed Frontman Jon Foreman.

According to Atlanta reviewers: "Every song demanded the audience participate whether it was through singing back to the band, clapping, or dancing as best they could on the packed GA floor (Everett Zuraw, 9 to 5 Magazine)" while several fans were "in tears at the sheer joy of the performance and seeing Jon back on stage with the band (Matt Delaney, Imprint Entertainment)."

The Native Tongue Tour coincides with the release of Switchfoot's chart-topping, critically-acclaimed album, Native Tongue, via Fantasy Records. Switchfoot launched the North American leg of the tour, which features support acts, Tyson Motsenbocker and Colony House, with sold-out shows at the Orange Peel in Asheville and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Throughout the tour, Switchfoot is partnering with Food for the Hungry, an international relief and development organization, to raise money for programs that help communities in 17 countries around the world move from extreme poverty to self-sustainability. To watch the exclusive announcement which premiered on Parade.com, click HERE

Stellar reviews for the Native Tongue Tour:

“SWITCHFOOT took the stage amid a frenzy of applause. Opening with heavy hitters from their new album like “Native Tongue” and “Voices,” the five-piece rock outfit displayed a dazzling array of genre-bending.”
- Ricky Olmos, Local Spins

“Everyone danced and cheered as frontman, Jon Foreman, stepped into the audience. He took the hands of fans to help support him as he stepped over the rows of wooden seats and stood on the arm rails, never missing a single lyric.”
- Veronica Varos, Music Existence

“About halfway through the set, the band surrounded a single microphone to play a few stripped-back tunes right in front of the stage. The crowd was in awe and you could hear a pin drop.”
- Steffi Wegewitz, Stitched Sound

“Numerous times throughout the evening, Jon jumped off of the stage into the crowd to sing with the audience and break the barrier between performer and audience.”
