“These songs capture that everyday fight you have with who you are and who you want to be,” says lead singer, Ryan MacDonald. “A year and a half ago, I was an anxious mess. I started to see a therapist who really made me dig deeper into myself. After a few sessions, he told me that the root of my anxiety was that I wasn't giving my grief rights. It's a period of time when it was okay to not be okay. It was a strange concept to me and not knowing what to do, I dove into books about my idols and revisited some of my favourite Springsteen records. The phrase ‘Grief Rights’ has stuck with me since that session, and honestly, it changed my life.”

Much of the indie-rock band’s dedicated fan base stems from their energetic and engaging live shows. They have recently completed a tour of Western Canada, including stops in Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, among others, and have now announced a second leg of their Spring tour, with stops across Ontario, including two back-to-back album release shows in their hometown of Thunder Bay.

The new album, set for release on May 4^th, showcases their anthemic rock style with powerful lyrics, with the first single, I’ve Got You, already reaching over 50,000 streams on Spotify and seeing adds at Apple Music’s Breaking Rock playlist, and Rock and Canadian Indie stations. Anchored by brothers Ryan and Nic MacDonald, The Honest Heart Collective was born out of a moment at a Bruce Springsteen concert and a rotating cast of musicians made permanent. Buoyed by the backdrop of their Northern Ontario roots, Liar’s Club encapsulates The Honest Heart Collective’s old soul take of heart-on-sleeves storytelling through music. Armed with the self-built Lionheart Studios, a blue-collar mentality, and 150+ shows later, The Honest Heart Collective has become four best friends raring to put out new music and get back on the road.  Working with producers/engineers Derek Hoffman and Jay Ruston, the new material was produced and recorded in Toronto’s Fox Sounds, Union Sound Company, and out of the band’s self-built studio in Thunder Bay, Lionheart Studios.
