Toronto, ON – March 8, 2019 – Today, The Strumbellas release their new track, Running Scared (Desert Song). This the is second release from the band’s fourth album, Rattlesnake, which is due out on March 29th in Canada via the band’s own imprint, Underneath A Mountain Records, under exclusive license to eOne Music Canada; and internationally with Glassnote Records. The band’s current single, Salvation, cracked the top 10 on the Alt Rock chart in Canada and has surpassed 3 million streams worldwide. Listen to Running Scared (Desert Song) here and watch the lyric video here. Rattlesnake is available to pre-order now.

Running Scared (Desert Song), an energetic breezy dust up with catchy anthemic hooks, was a favourite of the band to record.  “Running Scared is actually the song that inspired the artwork for the album. We love playing it because it makes us feel like we’re in the middle of the desert,” says Simon Ward. “This is one of the songs that came together the fastest and the studio was fun because we got to experiment with lots of weird instruments”.

In the lead up to their album release the band will play SXSW next week, including headlining Kobalt AWAL’s showcase at Antone’s on Wednesday night. Their spring headline tour kicks off May 1st in Boston, MA at House of Blues. On July 6th, the band will perform at The Arboretum at Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton, ON, presented by MRG Concerts. Tickets for the concert are on sale now. Full tour dates can be found below.

The Strumbellas are Simon Ward (vocals, acoustic guitar), David Ritter (keys), Jeremy Drury (percussion), Isabel Ritchie (strings), Jon Hembrey (guitar) and Darryl James (bass). In 2017, they won the iHeartRadio Music award for Best New Alternative Rock Artist of the Year, and collected the JUNO Award for Single of the Year ahead of Drake, The Weeknd and Shawn Mendes. From the onset the band received critical praise from the press, "The Strumbellas have perfected a story arc that's summed up in the title of their new album Hope,” wrote The New York Times and “The Strumbellas aren’t just taking on the US, they are taking on the world,” declared Forbes.
