THE STRUMBELLAS SHARE ACOUSTIC VERSION OF GREATEST ENEMY

LISTEN TO INDIESTRINGS AND COUNTRY RENDITIONS

Toronto, ON – July 9, 2021 – Today, Canadian collective, The Strumbellas, ease into summertime as they share a fresh take on their anthemic single, Greatest Enemy, out now on Entertainment One. The acoustic version arrives with renewed energy highlighting elements of each band member’s creative flair. Listen here.

“Because Greatest Enemy was written on an acoustic guitar, an acoustic version feels natural,” says keyboardist, Dave Ritter. “Working on these different versions was really fun. It let us explore different sides of the song and of ourselves as musicians.”

In addition, the band released three fun online exclusive flips of the song with unique visualizers. Fans can explore the many layers of Greatest Enemy in an indiestrings and country vibe.

The acoustic rendition of Greatest Enemy follows the original (released February 19, 2021), marking their first release since their fourth studio album, Rattlesnake, in 2019.
Last November, the band reconnected in person for the first time in almost a year to record their new single, Greatest Enemy, a song that lead vocalist, Simon Ward, had penned with acclaimed songwriter, Stevie Aiello (Thirty Seconds to Mars, Lana Del Rey). Listen to the original version of Greatest Enemy here.

The Greatest Enemy video was created by Toronto-based animator, Luca Tarantini (Andy Shauf, Brave Shores). It follows the story of a person battling their inner demon as they traverse through a vibrant and perilous landscape. Watch it here.

Since its initial release, The Strumbellas have been working with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), aiming to help raise awareness. Learn more about CAMH and find out how you can support here.
