Toronto, ON – April 5, 2019 – Today, Tyler Ramsey releases his highly anticipated solo album, For The Morning (Fantasy), his first since leaving the acclaimed indie outfit, Band of Horses, in 2017.  Inspired by the lush, deep green and stunning landscape of his home in the mountains outside of Asheville, NC, Ramsey threads rock, country and folk into a rich and rewarding new branch of American roots music. Ramsey previewed a number of sparkling album tracks in the lead-up to release, including, A Dream of Home, Firewood, White Coat and Evening Country – a reimagination of the song Evening Kitchen originally written by Ramsey for the Band of Horses GRAMMY-nominated album, Infinite Arms.

For The Morning has already garnered high praise from across the musical spectrum. NPR Music, who included Ramsey in their SXWS preview, stated, "A Dream of Home…finds a sweet spot that brings to mind the lush folk-rock rambles of Damien Jurado.” Billboard said, "Firewood -- with its ringing acoustic guitars, spare arrangement and elegiac melody -- shows off the spirit of musical adventure.”  FLOOD Magazine affirmed, “White Coat is rife with pretty guitar picking, the steady thump of a drum-like a heartbeat, and Ramsey’s languorous vocals,” while CLASH argued the track, tingles with a raw, unfettered beauty.”

Written and produced by Tyler Ramsey, For The Morning also features the work of engineer, Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Ray LaMontagne, Strand of Oaks), and Seth Kauffman of Floating Action (also touring musician for Jim James, Ray LaMontagne), who teamed with Ramsey at La La Land studios in Louisville, KY for much of the recording. The album is also complemented by several guest musicians, including Joan Shelley, Thad Cockrell, and Molly Parden (harmony on various tracks), pedal steel player Russ Paul, Nathan Salsburg and Gareth Liddiard from The Drones on guitar.

Fresh from several high-profile appearances at this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin, TX, Ramsey and his top-flight band are set for a run of headlining dates throughout the South and East Coast. Ramsey will also play select solo dates with Strand of Oaks before heading to the UK and Europe. Most recently, Ramsey and band stopped by the DittyTV studios in Memphis, TN for a live session – you can watch their performance of “A Dream of Home” HERE.  For more information please visit www.tylerramsey.com.
