AND FRESH FOLK

Wild Rivers’ Eighty-Eight merges many genres gracefully by adding vocal harmonies and an acoustic guitar to their folk-pop and soul hybrid” – Exclaim!

Toronto, ON – June 22, 2018 – Wild Rivers
– the finest purveyors of “Folk ‘n Roll and Country Soul” - are releasing the Eighty-Eight EP, the highly awaited follow up to their 2016’s self-titled debut album. The band is also debuting a stripped down live performance of Howling, showing off the band’s signature seamless harmonies.

The same careful craftsmanship is apparent in the band’s 2016 self-titled debut album, streamed over 27 million times on Spotify alone, and 2017 single, Do Right. The band wrote and recorded the EP in both Ontario and Nashville, creativity peaking between glistening pop (A Week Ago) and acoustic vulnerability (Howling). Guitarist and singer Yassein’s love of strong, purposeful melodies is evident in the core of each of the five tracks.

Wild Rivers is composed of Khalid Yassein (vocals, guitar), Devan Glover (vocals), Ben Labenski (drums) and Andrew Oliver (guitar, bass). Over three years, the Toronto-based band has accrued more than 30 million streams on Spotify, toured consistently across the U.S. and Canada, and earned a reputation as a band that makes a powerful connection with listeners. Coming from all different musical backgrounds, all four members find inspiration in iconic pop artists of the 1970s, from Fleetwood Mac to James Taylor to Neil Young, and manage to blend their hallmark storytelling styles with a modern approach to melody.

With the release of the EP, the band is gearing up for a scattering of US tour dates, including stops in New York City and some of the country’s best folk festivals, see below for details.
