SOCCER MOMMY SHARES NEW SINGLE BONES WITH ALEX ROSS PERRY-DIRECTED VIDEO

ANNOUNCES MASSIVE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
WITH STOP IN VANCOUVER ON DECEMBER 7

NEW ALBUM SOMETIMES, FOREVER
PRODUCED BY DANIEL LOPATIN (ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER) OUT JUNE 24

"Soccer Mommy, continues to stretch beyond the sparse indie-rock of her early songs" - The New York Times

"Allison’s ear for vocal and guitar tones remains impeccable...Allison is thriving, equipped with the tools to make a record as bombastic as the ones that first fueled her nostalgic ’90s alt rock dreams." - Pitchfork (Best New Track)

"’Shotgun’ [features] steadfast synths, airtight guitar, and a robust thwunk of a bassline. The mix sounds cleaner and more assertive…a very promising start to Soccer Mommy’s next era, one that we’ll keep on loop for a while.- Rolling Stone (Song You Need To Know)

"Soccer Mommy recaptures some of the bleary grace of certain mid-’90s alt-rock-radio outliers, and “Shotgun” has a head-nod beat that gives me flashbacks to Folk Implosion’s “Natural One”... ...there’s some dizzy romanticism in the way the song explodes, again and again. " - Stereogum (#1 Best Song of the Week)

"sharp indie rock" - Vulture

TORONTO, ON – May 18, 2022 – Next month, Soccer Mommy will release her new full-length album, Sometimes, Forever, produced by Daniel Lopatin of Oneohtrix Point Never, and today she shares another single off of the forthcoming record. Following lead single, Shotgun, and the spellbinding Unholy Affliction, is the heart-bursting album opener, Bones. Listen here.

Originally written for a rom com, Bones is a track that Sophie Allison loved so much she decided not to submit it to the film and keep it for this album instead, and it’s clear why. Bones is quintessential Soccer Mommy, featuring sparkling production that highlights the strength of the band as they tear through a dynamic breakdown that nods to the 90s.

“Bones is a song about struggling with the parts of yourself that you don’t like in a relationship,” Allison explains. “It’s about wanting to become better for someone and feeling like you’re standing in your own way.”

Alongside the single is a new music video from director, Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell, Golden Exits), who also directed a Soccer Mommy video for color theory album highlight, yellow is the color of her eyes. Listen to Bones and watch the new video here.

Soccer Mommy also announces a massive North American tour in support of Sometimes, Forever, including a stop in Vancouver later this year. Presale for the tour, which is aptly titled, Touring, Forever, starts Thursday, May 19 at 10:00 a.m. local, with general on-sale starting Friday, May 20 at 10:00 a.m. local. Sign up for the code now on soccermommyband.com. A portion of proceeds from pre-sale tickets sold via the band website will be donated to Planned Parenthood. See below to find a show near you, and, for a taste of what to expect on the road, watch the band’s performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon from last month here.

Sometimes, Forever is Sophie Allison’s boldest and most aesthetically adventurous work yet, and cements her status as one of the most gifted songwriters making rock music right now. It sees Allison once again tapping into the turn-of-the-millennium sensibilities she’s known for, as she advances her self-made sonic world beyond the present and into the future with experimental-minded production, an expanded moodboard of vintage touchstones, and some of her most sophisticated songwriting to date. Inspired by the concept that neither sorrow nor happiness is permanent, Sometimes, Forever is a fresh peek into the mind of an artist who synthesizes everything — retro sounds, personal tumult, the relatable disorder of modern life — into original music that feels built to last a long time. Maybe even forever. The album is available to pre-order here.

Soccer Mommy released the critically-acclaimed, GRAMMY-nominated sophomore album, color theory, in 2020. Following the release of the album, Allison earned mass acclaim, with performances opening for Bernie Sanders, numerous headline dates sold out months in advance, festival slots at the likes of Glastonbury, and her late-night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The album made its AAA Top 20 debut after release, was #1 NACC Top 200 for four weeks running, and debuted on the following Billboard charts: #1 Top New Artist Albums, #1 Alternative New Artist Albums, #4 Current Alternative Albums, #4 LP Vinyl Albums, #6 Current Rock Albums, #16Top Current Albums and in the Billboard Top 200.
